Statement of Purpose:
The mission ministry exists to assist Chilhowie Baptist Church in carrying out the Great Commission. As it is the direct assignment from Christ to our local church to take the gospel to every creature, we must fulfill our primary purpose the glory of God through world evangelism.

The following biblical mandates have been understood and employed in order to accomplish our biblical assignment:

GOD HAS CHOSEN CHURCH PLANTING AS THE METHOD OF EVANGELIZING THE WORLD.
As the church is the body of Christ, it is to minister not simply be ministered to. The church is to reproduce itself, as every healthy obedient being reproduces after its own kind.                             Acts 9:31, Acts 14:21-23

GOD DESIRES EACH MEMBER OF THIS LOCAL CHURCH TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE TANGIBLY INVOLVED IN PLANTING CHURCHES.
Young old, retired, or middle aged, every member of the church should fulfill their purpose by being actively involved in helping establish new churches.                                                                              Acts 8:26-31, Acts 4:36-37, Romans 16:12

GOD HAS CHOSEN THE LOCAL CHURCH TO BE THE MESSAGE AND SEND THE MESSENGERS.
The local church is the one indispensable element in missions, not only are churches to reproduce, but also to send out itinerant church planters to the four corners of the earth.                                        Acts 13:1-5

GOD USES THE SAME METHOD IN EVERY CENTURY, CLIMATE AND CULTURE – TEACHING OTHERS ALSO.
As a member of a local Bible preaching church, you have been exposed to more biblical education than most of the world’s population receives in a lifetime. Your responsibility is to take what God has given you and teach it to others in a way that they may teach others also.                                     II Timothy 2:2
